Red Heart or Blue Heart?

Well, so far sales of my new book Sweet Ophelia and the Tinseltown Blues have been underwhelming at best, with about one sale per day at .99 cents.  I've decided to try changing the cover to see if that helps.  If it doesn't I'll try changing the title, too.

In the meantime, I've come up with a few possible covers, so if anyone wants to help me out with a vote, let me know which you prefer, the red heart or the blue heart.  Once I decide and purchase the image, the little watermark swirls in the middle will come off.  Thanks in advance for your votes!

  1. Thanks, Ricki! I put this question up on a writer's forum, too, and people seem to like the original cover but not the title so much. So maybe I'll just change the title. Any other opinions on the cover or the title will be greatly appreciated!

  2. I quite like the title, sounds a bit quirky, but don't have a problem with it. The original cover reminds me of a Mills & Boon book and the blue and white heart cover makes me think of a sterile medical environment.

I like the title and would be more inclined to buy it with the red heart cover - seems to say more what the novel is about,ie broken hearts and romance.

Of course, just my personal feelings. Good luck!

  3. I like the red one better. Interesting about the title. I liked it but I gather that's not universal. It's true it doesn't suggest it is a romance as we discussed.

  4. One more thought. Perhaps the broken heart would be suggestive enough that it is a romance that the title would be OK.

  5. Thanks for the comments, I might just try the red heart cover just to see how it goes!

  6. I think the red heart expresses the feeling of shattered romance and its effect on poor fragile Warren. Your character will not accept pity, but is another case of broken hearted ness. Keep the title!
